The FBI has issued a
“situational awareness advisory” concerning dive gear and training.
It turns out that activities such as rebreather training and use or purchase of DPVs are indicators of “nefarious activity”. }:-) They also list “extra” navigation training and “deep” dive training as suspect. (So much for “intro to tech diving” classes and any sort of cave/wreck training. Oh, and murky water and confined-spaces diving are out also.) Their final warnings are even better – remember that whole “all debts public and private” bit printed on all our money? Not so much any more – if you pay cash for training, you are automatically suspect. So have fun this summer but – as always – be careful both in and out of the water.
