Yes, we’re still here (although we’ve been very, very busy recently
..) The plans for the early-summer trip fell through, but thats all about to change. We are looking to go to Pensacola over Labor Day weekend to dive the world’s largest artificial reef, the aircraft carrier formerly known as the USS Oriskany. Interested? More details after the break.
We’re planning to go at the end of August and we’re looking for company. Do you want to join us? Check out the
forum thread for all the details on travel, lodging and diving. The basic wreck stats are available on the web:
Water depth: 212 feet / 64 meters
Flight deck depth: 139 feet / 42 meters
Uppermost island depth: 70 feet / 21 meters
Cert required: Yes – Open Water or equiv. (Nitrox suggested)
Technical dives are available through the dive shop, but we’ll be sticking to the flight deck and above.
Hope to see you there!
